Class A Lakes with a Quarter Mile Buffer

The Class A Surface Waters – Lakes with Quarter-Mile Buffer GIS feature layer is a subset of New Hampshire’s surface water classification data. It highlights lakes designated as Class A waters under RSA 485-A:9, along with a quarter-mile buffer zone to aid in land use planning and source water protection. Class A waters are the state's highest quality and are protected for potential public drinking water use, with no discharges of wastewater allowed.
