Starting with a genetic enhancer screen, we found that the ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex SWR1 genetically interacted with the ERECTA receptor kinase signaling pathway in the control of Arabidopsis ovule patterning by inhibiting the expression of MIR398c in the early developmental stage of ovule. We further demonstrated that SWR1-mediated nucleosome structure and the ERECTA signaling play a critical role in repressing the transcription of MIR398c.
