Bacillus velezensis 906 isolated from rice inhibits a wide range of foodborne pathogens and possesses degradation activity of AFB1. Notably, strain 906 has the ability to suppress the growth of Listeria monocytogenes and Aspergillus flavus. Due to probiotic characteristics of B. velezensis 906, it emerged as a viable contender for detoxification, antisepsis, and antibiotic replacement in food and feed. The whole genome sequencing was performed for phylogenetic identification precisely. In addition, the analysis of mechanisms of antibacterial and detoxification at the gene level is useful in identifying the sequence of new antibacterial peptides and detoxification enzymes.
