Quercus trojana chorology

Distribution map of Macedonian oak (<i>Quercus trojana</i>)<br><br>These maps were produced by combining numerous and heterogeneous data collected from atlas monographs providing complete species distribution maps, from national to regional atlases, occurrence geodatabases and scientific literature.<br>The maps were created using ESRI shapefiles (*.shp, *.shx, *.dbf, *.prj files) archived in the ZIP file. Species range is mapped with polygon features (name suffix “plg”), which define continuous areas of occupancy of the species, and with point features (name suffix “pnt”), which identify more fragmented and isolated populations. If synanthropic occurrences are reported outside the species natural range, additional point and/or polygon shapefiles are also present (suffix “syn”).<br>All polygon borders delimiting the range are generalized across the mainland and sea boundaries, and not clipped to a specific coastline. This offers the possibility to mask sea areas, or to clip and extract the terrestrial range parts using GIS data layers of the users’ choice. <br><br>Please cite as:<br>Caudullo, G., Welk, E., San-Miguel-Ayanz, J., 2017. 马其顿栎（*Quercus trojana*）分布区图谱

本图谱通过整合多源异构数据编制而成，数据来源涵盖提供完整物种分布区图谱的各类区域单本地图集（覆盖从国家级至区域级的全层级）、物种出现点地理数据库以及科学文献。

本图谱采用ESRI形状文件（shapefiles，包含*.shp、*.shx、*.dbf、*.prj四类文件）制作，并打包存储于ZIP压缩文件中。物种分布范围通过两类要素标注：面要素（文件名后缀“plg”）用于定义物种的连续栖息区域，点要素（文件名后缀“pnt”）用于标识更为破碎、孤立的种群。若在物种自然分布范围之外存在人为伴生出现记录，则将附带额外的点和/或面形状文件（后缀“syn”）。

所有划定物种分布范围的面边界均已针对大陆与海洋边界进行概化处理，未裁剪至特定海岸线。该设置允许使用者根据自身需求，通过地理信息系统（GIS）数据图层掩膜海洋区域，或裁剪提取陆地分布范围的相关部分。
