Why participate in a course? Speed-dating introduction activity.

An introduction to my understanding of the benefits trainees get from participating in a course, with a speed dating activity described to help trainees and trainers get to know each other better. Presentation given by me (in PowerPoint and Keynote with images removed to reduce file size, and in PDF format with the full presentation) at the EMBO Practical Course on Computational Molecular Evolution in Crete, 2014, to introduce trainees to the importance of networking and building relationships with other trainees, and with the trainers, during a course, and how I consider that coming away from the course with these relationships of equal benefit to them as the knowledge/skills they gain from the teaching.本内容为笔者对学员参与课程所获益处的认知阐释，其中提及一项速配交流活动，用以帮助学员与培训师更好地相互了解。该演示材料由笔者制作，包含两种格式版本：PowerPoint与Keynote格式版本已移除图片以缩减文件大小，PDF格式版本则保留完整演示内容。此演示于2014年在克里特岛举办的欧洲分子生物学组织（EMBO）计算分子进化实务课程中进行分享，旨在向学员说明课程期间搭建人脉、与其他学员及培训师建立联结的重要性，以及笔者为何认为，从课程中收获的这类互惠人际关系，与通过教学获取的知识与技能对学员而言具有同等价值。
