Upstream Food Systems in Puntland: Datasets and Supplementary Materials from Carmo Township and Agricultural Villages

This collection contains the complete datasets and supplementary materials underpinning the study Transforming Upstream Food Systems in Puntland: Evidence from Carmo Township and Agricultural Villages. The research employed a mixed‑methods approach, combining household surveys (n = 120), trader and transporter surveys (n = 45), key informant interviews (n = 15), and observation checklists (n = 10). In addition to quantitative datasets, the collection includes qualitative field notes, township and village documentation, policy documents reviewed, comparative case study notes (Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda), and the CIARI ethics clearance framework. All files are anonymized, coded, and prepared for open access to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and compliance with Open Research Africa (ORA) standards. The datasets provide evidence on governance clarity, resource adequacy, enforcement consistency, postharvest losses, and household food security in Carmo Township and surrounding agricultural villages.
