Historical and compositional data for French forest dynamic and carbon assessment

This dataset aims at informing historical forest dynamic in France and providing data for a broad quantification of forest carbon stocks and sink over time. It includes : (i) a time series of total forest area established from historical forest statistics and National Forest Inventory data for 1850-2010, including a variant where historical data have been corrected by a +1 million hectares before 1950, (ii) a time series of total growing stock stem volume (at 7 cm final diameter) established from National Forest Inventory data for 1976-2010, (iii) indicators permitting to convert the growing stock into carbon mass, and provided at the resolution of the botanical class (broadleaved and conifer tree species), including (a) the fraction 2010 of broadleaf-to-conifer tree volume, (b) volume expansion factors (two references), (c) mean basic wood density for the botanical classes, weighted by their abundance in the forest area, (iv) a time series of historical total carbon emissions for France. All data stem from published scientific contributions whose references are provided.本数据集旨在揭示法国历史森林动态，并为长期森林碳储量与碳汇的大规模量化研究提供数据支撑。数据集包含以下内容：(i) 1850年至2010年的森林总面积时间序列，整合历史森林统计数据与国家森林清查（National Forest Inventory）数据构建而成，其中包含一组修正变体：1950年之前的历史数据被校正为增加100万公顷；(ii) 1976年至2010年的立木总蓄积量（终径7cm）时间序列，基于国家森林清查数据构建；(iii) 可实现立木蓄积量向碳质量转换的相关指标，以植物学类别（阔叶树与针叶树树种）为数据分辨率提供，具体包括：(a) 2010年阔叶树与针叶树蓄积占比，(b) 蓄积扩展因子（2个参考基准），(c) 基于森林面积丰度加权的植物学类别平均基本木材密度；(iv) 法国历史总碳排放时间序列。所有数据均来自已发表的科研成果，并附参考文献。
