The plasmids PL6A and PL6B of Hqr. walsbyi strain C23 (type strain) are small (around 6 kb), circular dsDNA plasmids that appear to be common in isolated strains of Haloquadratum, and in metagenomic data from hypersaline environments. This study aims to assess the diversity of these plasmids in new isolates of Haloquadratum, and reconstructed from publicly available metagenomic/metaviromic data.
