Bay of Quinte Cladocera project: long-term changes in cladoceran community and size structure from four dated Bay of Quinte sediment cores (Version 1)

Version 1.These data were collected as part of a sediment core (paleolimnological) assessment of the Bay of Quinte, Lake Ontario. The goal of these data was to measure change in cladoceran community and size structure over time in response to historical trophic alteration. Cladoceran counts can be used to quantify assemblage metrics (e.g., relative abundance, diversity, concentration) while size structure responds to changes in predation pressure. Radioisotope activities were measured to construct core dating models and loss on ignition was used to quantify changes in organic and carbonate content. Overall, these data provide an overview of spatial and temporal change within the Bay of Quinte.
