A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire; West of Ouse Landscape Block

This is a child collection of the main A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon archaeological project archive. For the purposes of analysis, the various targeted excavation areas (TEAs) that formed the mitigation work have been grouped into eight Landscape Blocks. These have been defined due to the nature of the archaeology, their geographical location, and in some cases, their geology/topography. This child collection concerns the West of Ouse Landscape Block. West of Ouse comprises three TEAs (14-16), covering 19.5 hectares on gravels close to the River Ouse north-west of Buckden. Archaeological remains from Prehistoric, Roman and Saxon periods were encountered.

本数据集为A14公路剑桥至亨廷顿段主考古项目档案的子数据集。为开展分析研究，构成该道路工程配套保护性考古发掘项目的各类目标发掘区（Targeted Excavation Area，TEA）被划分为八个景观区块。上述景观区块的划分依据包括考古遗存属性、地理位置，部分区块还结合了地质与地形特征。本子数据集聚焦于乌斯河西岸景观区块，该区块包含3个目标发掘区（编号14至16），总面积19.5公顷，分布于巴登（Buckden）西北侧紧邻乌斯河的砾石地带，区内已发现史前、罗马时期与撒克逊时期的考古遗存。
