Fecal Samples from feedlot cattle with hemorrhagic distal colitis. bovine gut metagenome

These are paired case control fecal samples from cattle in the same pen that were more than 100 days into the feeding period and are over 1 year of age. Case samples exhibited profuse bloody diarrhea for <12 hours at the time of sample collection. Control samples were clinically unaffected. Samples were collected by passing a 15cm long swab into the rectum and contacting both the fecal material and the mucosal surface.
