The Lutz tower was built in 1972 and was originally 42m. In 2002 it was increased to 48m. The data from 48m should be considered a separate data series from the data at 42m. Wind speed is significantly higher at 48m due to the distance to the top of the canopy. The Clearing is a small, open area surrounded by forest and some buildings. Station established in 1972. Consists of a Stevenson screen with max/min thermometers and air pressure sensor. 卢茨集水区(Lutz catchment)是巴罗科罗拉多岛上一处面积为9.73公顷的保护性流域。卢茨塔(Lutz tower)始建于1972年,初始高度为42米,2002年加高至48米。48米高度采集的数据与42米高度的数据应视为两个独立的数据集序列。由于48米高度更接近林冠顶端,该高度处的风速显著更高。
观测场(The Clearing)是一处被森林与少量建筑环绕的小型开阔区域,该观测站始建于1972年。站内设有斯蒂芬森百叶箱(Stevenson screen),内置最高/最低温度计与气压传感器;温湿度传感器、雨量计与蒸发传感器则布设在百叶箱周边的不同位置。
