Import duty on motor spirit in India FY 2010-2013

In fiscal year 2013, the import duty collected on motor spirit across India amounted to around 37 billion Indian rupees, down from about 52 billion rupees in fiscal year 2012. About 87 percent of the tax revenue was generated from high speed diesel and motor spirit by the central government in 2017. Road tax across the country continued to stay above the goods and services tax.
