GSWA collected hyperspectral reflectance spectra from drill holes intersecting the Eucla Basement (FOR004, FOR010, FOR011, MAD002, MAD014, HDDH001) using a HyLogger3 located at GSWA’s drill core library in Carlisle, WA. A PLS-based approach was used to model three geochemical indices, including the Magnesium number (“Mg#”; Mg/(Mg+Fe)), Silica Calcium Iron Magnesium number (“SCFM”; SiO2/(SiO2+CaO+FeOtot+MgO)), and Aluminium saturation index (“ASI”; Al2O3/(Na2O+K2O+CaO)) from the hyperspectral data. The accompanying CSIRO report EP184011 provides a detailed description of applied processing methods using The Spectral Geologist (TSG) software, including the feature extraction scripts (base and Multiple Feature Extraction Method (MFEM) scripts), and Partial Least Squares (PLS) modelling of geochemistry.
