The goal of this project was to gain a general understanding of what genes and genetic networks are transcribed in retile blood cells. Reptiles have nucleated red blood cells along with the white blood cells. This may allow repeated sampling of blood to study temporal transcriptomics responses to environmental stressors, rather than euthanizing the animals to assay other tissues.
