This dataset provides a structured inventory of Myriophyllum spicatum and other aquatic biomass occurrences. It serves as the foundational "Central Database" for the FFG-funded project InnoWAP. Version 1.0 (March 2026): Contains initial geodata and biomass potentials for key regions including the Danube (Vienna), Lake Balaton, and Lake Neusiedl. Coordinates: Decimal Degrees (WGS84). Potential: Estimated annual yield in tons per hectare or total regional occurrence in wet mass. Note: This is a living document. Future updates will include detailed chemical composition data and expanded European harvesting sites. Technical Note on 3D Mapping & Data Visualization: This dataset includes a specialized Excel file (.xlsx) optimized for use with the Microsoft Excel add-in "3D Maps" (Power Map). To interactively visualize the biomass distribution: Open the file in Excel and navigate to Insert > 3D Map > Open. In the Layer Pane on the right, ensure that Latitude and Longitude are mapped correctly to the respective geographical fields. Important: To see the comparison of plant types, add both data fields—"Potential_Submersed" and "Potential_Emersed"—to the Height category. To display them side-by-side (instead of stacked), change the chart type in the Layer Pane to "Clustered Column" (the second icon from the left). For users without this feature, a static visualization (PNG) is provided in the repository to show the baseline results.
