In this project, we reconstruct microbial genomes from the metagenome sequencing data from shallow sediments in core U1379B collected from the Costa Rica Margin during IODP Expedition 334. We used these data to discuss the diversity and potential metabolic functions of microbes especially a couple of novel benthic archaea in subduction zone sediments.
