In this study, we assessed the diversity of RNA-containing viruses in the sponges Lubomirskia baikalensis and Baikalospongia bacillifera by shotgun sequencing of RNA from separated fraction enriched with virus-like particles (VLPs). Diseased and visually healthy specimens or branches of sponges were used for analysis.
