Tinted lantern slide showing a very young couple from the Naga group of tribes (possibly from the Ao tribe), who live in north eastern India and north west Burma. The girl wears a white shirt with a sash, a wrap around her waist and a tall hat. The boy wears a conical hat, bands round his arms of brass or copper and ivory, and brass or copper bracelets around his shins. He wears brass or copper bands around his waist over a cloth wrap. A man can be seen in the background wearing a white official uniform. They stand before a wooden house on stilts, from which the skin of a large wild cat hangs. This slide comes from a collection created by missionaries from Regions Beyond Missionary Union, an interdenominational Protestant evangelical mission working in northeast India (Bihar and Orissa) and Nepal.
