Whole-genome sequence of Desulfuromonas sp. strain AOP6, an iron(III) reducer isolated from subseafloor sediment of Nankai Trough

Desulfuromonas sp. strain AOP6, having reductive activity of ferric iron, was isolated from subseafloor sediment of Nankai Trough. We report the near-complete genome sequence of this strain determined by a two-step assembly of paired-end and mate-pair reads, which possesses a massive of C-type cytochrome, type IV pili and flagellar systems.
