Molecular Characterization of Staphylococcus sciuri Isolated from Filarial Lymphedema Wounds in the Ahanta West District in Southern Ghana.

This whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data is derived from S. sciuri isolates recovered from 5 out of 28 wound samples from symptomatic filarial lymphedema patients in the Ahanta West District of Ghana. The study aimed to explore the genomic landscape of S. sciuri within this vulnerable group, focusing on identifying bacterial traits associated with antibiotic resistance and variations in antibiotic susceptibility. The sequencing was performed using the Illumina MiSeq platform.
