This study investigated whether cancer affected the muscle lipid mediator abundance. Male BALB/c mice were injected with PBS (CON) or C26 colon carcinoma cells (C26) (n = 5/group). Mice were sacrificed 18 days upon PBS/tumor cell injection.
The relative abundance of lipid mediators was analyzed in the vastus medialis muscle (~15mg; part of m. Quadriceps). Lipid extraction and the LC-MS/MS–based lipidomics was performed by the KU Leuven Lipometrix core facility. More detail is provided by Dalle, S., Hiroux, C., & Koppo, K. (2024).
