The objective of the study was to know the patterns of Land-Use/Land-Cover change and deforestation in a territory of importance for livestock development in Nicaragua: La Vía Láctea (Matiguas, Muy Muy, and Rio Blanco). The study was delimited based on municipal limits at a scale of 1:50,000 considering the geopolitical limit of the three municipalities. The analysis of time series data of land-use and land-cover (LULC) was carried out using multispectral Landsat images (Landsat 3 [MSS] for 1978 and 3 Landsat 5 [TM] for 1986, 1998, and 2011), from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and through the Global Visualization Viewer (GloVis). The working images were considered for the same season with less than 20% of cloud cover. Prior to interpretation, atmospheric correction and geometric rectification were performed. The dates selected for the processing of LULC changes depended on the availability of images and the presence of clouds.

本研究旨在探究尼加拉瓜重点畜牧发展区域La Vía Láctea(马蒂瓜斯Matiguas、穆伊穆伊Muy Muy及里约布兰科Rio Blanco)的土地利用/土地覆被变化与森林砍伐格局。本研究以三市的地缘政治边界为基准,按照1:50000比例尺,以行政市界划定研究范围。本研究借助全球可视化查看器(Global Visualization Viewer, GloVis),获取美国地质调查局(United States Geological Survey, USGS)发布的多光谱陆地卫星(Landsat)影像,开展土地利用与土地覆被(Land-Use/Land-Cover,以下简称LULC)时间序列数据分析:其中1978年影像为Landsat 3搭载的多光谱扫描仪(Multispectral Scanner System, MSS)影像,1986、1998与2011年共3景影像为Landsat 5搭载的专题制图仪(Thematic Mapper, TM)影像。所有入选研究的影像均采集于同一季节,且云量覆盖率低于20%。在进行影像解译前,已完成大气校正与几何校正处理。本次LULC变化分析所选用的影像日期,需结合影像获取可行性与云量覆盖情况确定。
