Both age and social environment shape the phenotype of ant workers

The aim of this study was to disentangle the effect of caste and age on ant physiology by analysing their metabolome and proteome. For this purpose, we designed an experiment with four groups : young foragers (Y.F), old foragers (O.F), young nest-workers (Y.NW) and old nest-workers (O.NW). <br> We provide raw proteomics and metabolomics data, data after curation (as used for the statistical analyses); part of the statistical analysis and relevant references for the biologocial processes involved. <br> This dataset is associated with a research article :

本研究旨在通过分析蚂蚁的代谢组（metabolome）与蛋白质组（proteome），厘清社会品级与年龄对蚂蚁生理特性的影响。为此，我们设计了包含四组实验对象的实验：年轻觅食蚁（young foragers, Y.F）、老龄觅食蚁（old foragers, O.F）、年轻巢工蚁（young nest-workers, Y.NW）以及老龄巢工蚁（old nest-workers, O.NW）。
本数据集包含原始蛋白质组学与代谢组学数据、经整理可用于统计分析的预处理数据，以及部分统计分析内容与所涉生物学过程的相关参考文献。
