The complexity of lung microbiota and the limitations inherent in other microbiological methods render the identification of pulmonary infection pathogens rather challenging. Metagenomics Next-Generation Sequencing (mNGS) has widely been acknowledged as a revolutionary, bias-free and prediction-free detection method within the realm of respiratory infections.
