We generated a draft genome assembly of A. macrostyla and compared the taxon with A. canescens in terms of genome size, gene density, TEs and genetic polymorphism richness. The genomic evolution of the target taxa and Arabis alpina has been compared in respect of homologous genes. These novel genome assemblies are the first steps towards the chromosome-level assembly of A. canescens and understanding the genome diversity within the genus.
