Lambir Hills National Park consists of two types of vegetation native to Borneo: mixed dipterocarp forest, containing various genera of the Dipterocarpaceae family and covering 85% of the Lambir Hills National Park, and tropical heath forest. The mean canopy height at the study site is approximately 40 m, but emergent treetop height can reach 50 m.The leaf area index is within an average value of 6.2 m2 m-2.The monthly amount of litterfall is comparable throughout the year, suggesting limited seasonal variations of the leaf area index.
Soils consist mainly of red-yellow podzolic soils , also known as Ultisols (soil taxonomy of the United States Department of Agriculture), with high sand content , accumulation of nutrients at the surface horizon, low pH (4.0-4.3), and high porosity.
兰比尔山国家公园(Lambir Hills National Park)分布有婆罗洲本土的两种植被类型:其一为混合龙脑香林(mixed dipterocarp forest),涵盖龙脑香科(Dipterocarpaceae)的多个属,占园区总面积的85%;其二为热带石楠林(tropical heath forest)。本研究样地的平均冠层高度约为40米,而上层突跃乔木的冠顶高度可达50米。该样地的叶面积指数(Leaf Area Index)平均值为6.2 m²·m⁻²。全年各月的凋落物产量均较为稳定,表明叶面积指数的季节波动幅度有限。
