Monitoring of Tatsuda-yama Fault by Global Positioning System

The Tatsudayaya Fault crossing the northern part inside Kumamoto City has been monitored by using a global positioning system (GPS) receiver (type 4000 SL made by Trinbulter Co.) since 1992. The observation points are 5 sites such as the Space Information Center of Tokai University, the Faculty of Technology of Kyushu-Tokai University, Kohagi Park, and Nishi-Hirayama Park. By making the Faculty of Technology in Kyushu-Tokai University as a baseline, measurements have been performed. The observation frequency is once a year.
