The Iberian cryoEM community BAG (II)

The Iberian cryoEM BAG is a large consortium (~40 groups) composed of Portuguese and Spanish laboratories working in biologically relevant problems including disease related metabolic enzymes, antibiotic resistance, DNA replication and DNA maintenance, protein synthesis, virus structure and its replication/transcription mechanisms, and macromolecular complexes involved in the control of key cellular processes like protein folding and degradation. For these research groups electron cryomicroscopy is a fundamental tool and access to ESRF facilities is essential to achieve their objectives.

伊比利亚冷冻电镜联盟（Iberian cryoEM BAG）是一个由约40个研究团队组成的大型科研联合体，成员均来自葡萄牙与西班牙的科研实验室，其研究方向覆盖生物学领域诸多核心课题，包括疾病相关代谢酶、抗生素耐药性、DNA复制与维持、蛋白质合成、病毒结构及其复制/转录机制，以及参与调控蛋白质折叠与降解等关键细胞过程的大分子复合物等。对于该联盟内的科研团队而言，冷冻电镜是不可或缺的核心研究工具，而获取欧洲同步辐射装置（ESRF）的实验设施使用权，则是达成其研究目标的必要前提。
