VPRS 18816 Advisory Board Minutes

This series comprises meeting minutes of the Advisory Board of the Queen Victoria Medical Centre (VA1254). The Advisory Board reported to the General Committee, later known as the Board of Management (VPRS 18811 and VPRS 18812).  Information recorded in these minutes includes: members present, recommendations for positions to be advertised, applications for medical positions considered, and recommendations of candidates to the General Committee, later known as the Board of Management. The Advisory Board was comprised of: four representatives of the Executive Committee chosen by the Committee, two members of the Honorary Medical Staff chosen by the Staff, and two members of the Honorary Consultant Staff chosen by that Staff.  There is a considerable gap between the first volume (1921 - 1964) and the second (1977 - 1986). The existence of volumes for the period of 1965 - 1976 is unknown. The first minutes in the second volume are recorded as "Minutes of First Meeting of Advisory Board (as a Standing Committee)”.
