This repository contains files used in the publication 'A novel cyanobacteria occurrence index derived from optical water types in a tropical lake'. The files are the following: OWT_inland_mean_standardised_EXTENDED_DL.csv - Candidate library of 25 Optical Water Types (OWT) standardised spectra OLCI_LWQ_Polymer_v3_L3_WinamGulf_2016_2023_Cyanobacteria_Occurrence_index.nc - a netCDF file containing the dataset used to study cyanobacteria blooms in WInam Gulf in the period 2016-2023. The file contains: Remote Sensing Reflectance of Sentinel-3 OLCI bands (400nm - 1020nm) - named as "Rw*" Standardised specra between 412nm and 779nm - named as "Rw*_standardised" Spectral angle OWT membership score (Sowt) of the 25 water types of the proposed extended library - names as "Sowt_*" The novel weighted Sowt Sum metric - named as "weighted_sowts_sum" The novel Cyanobacteria Occurrence Index (COI) - named as "cyanobacteria_occurrence_index" coi.zip - a python package to calculate the COI from an input .nc satellite image. Instruction on its installation are inlcuded therein
