Height Measured in centimetres # of leaves Number of leaves visible attached. # of flowers Number of flowers recorded if visible. Degree of Crowdedness 0 = open, 1= some plants nearby, 2 = quite a few and 3 = very much crowded bunch of plants within 50cm, regardless of species. Methods Description: On Wednesday, September 21<sup>st</sup>, 2016, at roughly 2:50 pm, with sunny clear skies, data was collected. Data was collected at the York University grasslands. A transect tape was elongated to 25 meters and then placed along the grassland. Each time the species was spotted with the naked eye touching the transect, its properties were recorded as displayed on the excel spreadsheet. Variables are explained by the meta data. At random, one leaf was chosen from the species, stretched to its full length and measured by another measuring tape in centimetres. Then, all of the leaves attached to the species were counted. Number of flowers were recorded if seen. Lastly, how crowded the patch was, was recorded from 0 to 3. Numbers are explained by the Meta data, this means that if the grass is all the way around the species, degree is 3. This process was repeated for a number of 50 individuals. The numbers from 0 to 3 are huge indication if the grass abundance is high or low and dry and aid identifying patterns. Common name for the species is known as Dandelion, scientifically known as T<i>araxacum officinalis</i>.
