Fraser River Delta Upper Slope Suspended Sediment Profiler Deployed 2022-03-11

The Aquatec AquaScat 1000R (S/N 910-140) was deployed on 2022-03-11 at Fraser River Delta Upper Slope. This site is located on the upper slope of the Fraser River delta, where depth is approximately 100 metres. This device is a Suspended Sediment Profiler. Suspended Sediment Profilers (SSPs) consist of multiple acoustic transducers tuned to different frequencies, and rely on a principle, that the same sediment particle will scatter differently with acoustic waves of different frequencies. SSPs are active devices, which means they transmit and receive reflected acoustic signals (i.e. echoes). SSPs are high frequency acoustic profilers, used in sediment transport studies, including measurement of suspended sediment profiles, precision altimetry, dredge plumes and turbulence. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

Aquatec AquaScat 1000R（序列号S/N 910-140）于2022年3月11日部署于弗雷泽河三角洲上斜坡区域。该站点位于弗雷泽河三角洲的上斜坡地带，水深约100米。本设备为悬浮沉积物剖面仪（Suspended Sediment Profiler，SSP）。悬浮沉积物剖面仪由多台调谐至不同频率的声学换能器组成，其核心原理为：同一沉积物颗粒对不同频率的声波会产生差异化散射效应。悬浮沉积物剖面仪属于主动式设备，可发射并接收反射的声学信号（即回波）。该类设备为高频声学剖面仪，应用于沉积物输运研究领域，可用于测量悬浮沉积物剖面、高精度测高、疏浚羽流及湍流等场景。本次部署将设备搭载于固定平台之上。本次采集的数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 3.0数字基础设施对外开放，相关数据的质量保障及衍生数据产品均遵循行业成熟规范流程。
