Magnetic accretion in high-accretion rate polars

The spectral components of polars strongly magnetic CVs are barelydisentangled without sufficient spectral coverage. XMMNewton plus NuSTAR cansolve the riddle but the frequent low states of the brightest members preventedsystematic studies of highaccretion rate polars (HARPs). We thus began TOOlikeXMMNewton observations of the brightest systems in their high states andpropose to continue in AO13 with one further trigger. We will investigate thephysics of the hard Xray emitting shock, the heated accretion pole cap, theatmosphere of the white dwarf, the absorption in the shock and in the flow, thelines in the accretion flow and the reflection from the white dwarf byphaseresolved Xray spectroscopy and highspeed OMphotometry. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
