Datasets of Serine threonine kinases of Bifidobacteria spp. Probiotics are Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS), and are beneficial microbes. It implies that they hold the power to feel the presence of pathogens in the surrounding subsequently they transfer the signal to start the process of secretion of organics such as lactic acid, and postbiotics. The signal transduction pathway of prokaryotes involves a peptidoglycan synthesis cluster (PG) to sense external stimuli. One of the major component of PG synthesis cluster is protein kinases (pkn).The data of probiotic eSTKs (Eukaryotic Like Serine, Threonine kinases) are abscure, scarce and essentially required to understand the role of probiotic microbes in combating infectious diseases. The most essential need to understand and develop certain therapeutic drugs against pathogens is the eSTK database. Therefore, a thorough understanding of eSTK’s is essential to exploit them as signal transduction molecules. Hence, we developed a comprehensive user-friendly data repository of probiotic eSTK’s (PeSTKdb), which holds 830 STK sequences.

双歧杆菌属(Bifidobacteria spp.)丝氨酸苏氨酸激酶(Serine threonine kinases)数据集相关说明:益生菌属于一般公认安全(Generally Recognized As Safe,GRAS)的有益微生物。此类益生菌能够感知周遭环境中的病原微生物,并通过信号转导启动乳酸、后生元(postbiotics)等有机物的分泌过程。原核生物的信号转导通路依赖肽聚糖合成簇(peptidoglycan synthesis cluster,PG)感知外界刺激,而该合成簇的核心组分之一为蛋白激酶(protein kinases,pkn)。目前益生菌类真核样丝氨酸苏氨酸激酶(eukaryotic-like Serine/Threonine kinases,eSTKs)的数据较为稀缺且描述模糊,但其对于解析益生菌对抗感染性疾病的作用不可或缺。构建用于理解并开发抗病原治疗性药物的核心需求之一,便是eSTK相关数据库。因此,深入解析eSTKs的功能,对于将其作为信号转导分子加以开发利用具有关键意义。为此,我们构建了一款兼具全面性与易用性的益生菌eSTKs数据资源库(PeSTKdb),该库收录了830条丝氨酸苏氨酸激酶序列。
