EVALUATION OF ANTIDEPRESSANT ACTIVITY IN CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM OF MICE MODEL USING AQUEOUS EXTRACT OF DIGERA MURICATA

The aim of the present study was to evaluate some effects of Digera muricata (DM) on centralnervous system. The effects of Aqueous Extracts of Digera muricata (AEDM) tested withNeuropharmacological activities like acute toxicity, spontaneous motor activity, exploratory behavioralpattern, marble burying and tail suspension tests were studied in Albino mice. In acute toxicity mice wereadministered with AEDM and MEDM doses orally at 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg body weightintraperitoneally respectively, were tested in mice using different standards like 4 mg diazepam/kg, 3 mgchlorpromazine and 3 mg imipramin/kg -induced sleep test.本研究旨在评估刺苋菜（Digera muricata，DM）对中枢神经系统的部分药理作用。本研究以白化小鼠为实验对象，针对刺苋菜水提取物（Aqueous Extracts of Digera muricata，AEDM）开展神经药理学活性研究，涵盖急性毒性、自发活动、探索行为模式、埋丸实验及悬尾实验等内容。急性毒性实验中，小鼠分别经口给予50、100、200mg/kg体重的AEDM，并经腹腔给予对应剂量的刺苋菜甲醇提取物（MEDM）；同时以4mg/kg地西泮、3mg/kg氯丙嗪及3mg/kg丙咪嗪诱导的睡眠实验作为参照标准，完成相关测试。
