We performed Illumina RNA-Seq on ovary and testis samples to generate a reference gonadal transcriptome of the commercially fished shrimp Palaemon serratus. Differential expression analyses were carried out between sexes and genes related with sex determination, sex differentiation and gonadal development were studied.
