Programming effects of intrauterine hyperthermia on adrenal gland development

Maternal stress during late pregnancy can lead to intrauterine hyperthermia affecting fetal hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis development and function. This study aimed to characterize the impact of in utero heat stress on the postnatal offspring's adrenal gland transcriptome. Adrenal glands were harvested from in utero heat stressed (IUHS) and in utero cooled (IUCL) female calves at birth (day 0, n=6 per treatment) and at weaning (day 63, n=6 per treatment) for RNA Sequencing.
