Sea and river port services and workforce, maritime and inland shipping business data; benchmark on world largest seaports and EU inland waterway traffic

Maritine transport includes seaport services, maritime and inland shipping and river port activities. Most segments are documented as sectors in INSEE's business database. Complementary data on specific workforce, port throughput and the breakdown of the merchant fleet are sourced from transport satellite accounts and databases developed by the ministry in charge of maritime transport. International data on EU and world largest seaports are sourced from Eurostat and Unctad. Inland shipping data on main European waterways are usually published by Eurostat.
