MiDAS Global Genome Catalog

This record provides genome sequences and processed functional datasets associated with the MiDAS (Microbial Database for Activated Sludge) global genome catalog. The dataset includes high-quality (HQ) metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs), as well as derived functional annotations and summary tables for core genera identified across global wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) samples in the MiDAS 4 study. The following data types are included: Processed tables Summary statistics of HQ MAGs associated with core genera and their KEGG Orthology (KO) frequency tables KEGG functional annotation tables Sequence data Genome sequences of HQ MAGs associated with core genera and their Protein sequences of HQ MAGs Term definition:KO frequency is defined as the gene copy number, i.e., the total number of genes assigned to a given KEGG Orthology (KO) within a MAG. These datasets support analyses of microbial community structure, functional traits, and metabolic potential in activated sludge systems at a global scale. These datasets are intended to ensure reproducibility of the associated study and to facilitate reuse by the research community.
