Raw Data_ self-compassion and suicidal ideation among chinese college students

The dataset, "raw data_ self-compassion and suicidal ideation among chinese college students," was collected from college students across several regions in China using the online survey platform Wenjuanxing (www.wjx.cn) between November and Decemberr 2025. A simple random sampling method was employed, and after rigorous data cleaning, a total of 905 valid responses were retained for analysis. Standardized instruments were used to assess key psychological variables, including self-compassion, suicidal ideation, meaning in life, psychological resilience and perceived stress. Grounded in the conservation of resources theory and meaning maintenance theory, the study explored how self-compassion affects suicidal ideation through the chain mediating roles of meaning in life and psychological resilience, and how perceived stress moderates the relationship between self-compassion and meaning in life. This dataset provides empirical evidence for understanding cognitive mechanisms underlying college students’ suicidal ideation. This dataset gives useful ideas for designing campus mental health programs for college students.本数据集为“中国大学生自我同情与自杀意念原始数据”，于2025年11月至12月期间，通过在线调查平台问卷星（Wenjuanxing，www.wjx.cn）从中国多地区的大学生中采集所得。本研究采用简单随机抽样方法，经严格的数据清洗后，共保留905份有效应答数据用于后续分析。研究采用标准化测评工具对核心心理变量进行评估，涵盖自我同情、自杀意念、生命意义感、心理韧性及感知压力。本研究以资源保存理论与意义维持理论为基础，探讨了自我同情通过生命意义感与心理韧性的链式中介作用对自杀意念的影响路径，以及感知压力在自我同情与生命意义感之间的调节效应。本数据集为解析大学生自杀意念背后的认知机制提供了实证依据，同时可为面向大学生的校园心理健康干预方案设计提供有益参考。
