Rapid industrialization and development in petrochemical industries and its release in the environment have resulted in increased hydrocarbon pollution. Soil bacteria play a major role in degradation of these contaminants. In this study, we assessed the bacterial diversity in contaminated and non-contaminated agricultural soils using culture-dependent and independent approaches.
