ENHANCING SECURITY WITH TEXTUAL ONE-TIME PASSWORDS: A DEEP DIVE INTO THE BRUCE SCHNEIER METHOD

One-time passwords are used in all online transactions to ensure security and authenticity. The one-time password often consists only numbers. Given that it will take a billion years to decipher the password, this study uses the Bruce Schneier method and also a new proposed method to construct one-time passwords using only alphabets which may also be used as capcha. It is observed that textual OTP is generated for the purpose of authentication. As it is digital age this method can be used for effective authorisation of all online financial, academic and other transactions
