Arctic soil soundscapes

Sample soil soundscape recordings collected in common garden experiment at Abisko Scientific Research Station in September - October 2020. Files have not been pre-processed (i.e., are in their original format as saved onto recording devices). Before our analysis, all recordings were low pass filtered to remove signals above 5 kHz. We also applied a band pass filter at 500 Hz to remove self noise that appeared intermittently on some recorders. Our analysis focused on signals primarily betwen 50 Hz - 2 kHz, and we recommend that other researchers limit their analysis to this range in order to avoid noise artifacts from recorders that we occasionally observed at high frequencies.

2020年9月至10月，在阿比斯库科学研究站（Abisko Scientific Research Station）的同质园实验中采集的土壤声景录音样本。所有文件均未经过预处理，即保留存储于录音设备时的原始格式。开展分析前，我们对所有录音实施了低通滤波，以滤除5 kHz以上的信号；同时施加了500 Hz的带通滤波，以消除部分录音设备间歇性出现的自身噪声。本次分析主要聚焦于50 Hz至2 kHz频段的信号，我们建议其他研究者也将分析范围限定在此区间内，以规避我们在高频段偶尔观测到的录音设备噪声伪影。
