Draft genome and transcriptome assembly of the Antarctic marine flatworm Obrimoposthia wandeli

Obrimoposthia wandeli is the most abundant marine planarian observed in the intertidal zone of the maritime Antarctic region and is presumed to have adapted to the harsh conditions of the Southern Ocean. However, genomic studies on marine flatworms remain extremely limited, with only one marine planarian genome currently available in public databases. Here, we present the first draft genome and de novo transcriptome assembly of O. wandeli from Antarctica, providing a valuable genomic resource for the study of flatworm biology and environmental adaptation.万氏海生涡虫（Obrimoposthia wandeli）是南极滨海潮间带中观测到的丰度最高的海生涡虫，据推测其已适应南大洋的极端环境条件。然而，当前针对海生扁形动物的基因组研究仍极为匮乏，公共数据库中目前仅存有1种海生涡虫的基因组序列。本研究首次报道了采自南极的万氏海生涡虫的草图基因组与从头组装转录组，为扁形动物生物学及环境适应性研究提供了宝贵的基因组学资源。
