Abundance of ammonia oxidizers and methane oxidizers in Louisiana salt marshes, May to September 2012.

This dataset contains values for abundances of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB), ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA), and methane-oxdizing bacteria (MOB) collected from 13 marshes in Terrebonne Bay (TB), western Barataria Bay (WB), and eastern Barataria Bay (EB), LA. In TB and EB we sampled two oiled marshes and two unoiled marshes, and in WB we sampled three oiled marshes and two unoiled marshes. At each marsh, we collected 5-cm deep soil cores along a 20-m transect from the marsh edge and collecting soil samples every 5 m. Each sample was analyzed for abundance of AOB (betaproteobacterial amoA genes), AOA (archaeal amoA genes), and MOB (pmoA genes). Marshes in TB were sampled monthly from May to September 2012, and the WB and EB marshes were sampled in July and September 2012.

本数据集收录了采自美国路易斯安那州（LA）特雷邦湾（Terrebonne Bay, TB）、巴拉塔里亚湾西部（western Barataria Bay, WB）及巴拉塔里亚湾东部（eastern Barataria Bay, EB）共13处滨海湿地的氨氧化细菌（ammonia-oxidizing bacteria, AOB）、氨氧化古菌（ammonia-oxidizing archaea, AOA）与甲烷氧化细菌（methane-oxidizing bacteria, MOB）的丰度数据。在TB与EB区域，各布设2个受油污染湿地与2个未受油污染湿地作为采样点；WB区域则布设3个受油污染湿地与2个未受油污染湿地作为采样点。于每处湿地中，沿距湿地边缘20米的样带，每间隔5米采集5厘米深的土壤柱样。对每份采集的土壤样品，分别开展氨氧化细菌（β-变形菌amoA基因）、氨氧化古菌（古菌amoA基因）以及甲烷氧化细菌（pmoA基因）的丰度检测。TB区域的湿地于2012年5月至9月按月采样，WB与EB区域的湿地则于2012年7月和9月完成采样。
