The microbiome is an integral and dynamic component of the host and is emerging as a critical determinant of immune responses; however, its influence on vaccine immunogenicity is largely not well understood. Here adult female rhesus macaques (n = 20) were administered 3 DNA immunizations via intradermal injection with electroporation utilizing ICHOR TriGrid Assay at weeks 0, 8, and 16. Protein immunizations were composed of 100ug C.ZA 1197 MB gp140 protein adjuvanted with either 1) 100ug MPLA + 50ug QS-21 or 2) 100ug MPLA 600ug Aluminum at weeks 30 and 44. Rectal and Vaginal Microbiome were sampled after 3rd DNA immunization (wk0, wk1 and wk4).
