Ritchie’s Archipelago is located in the Bay of Bengal between the Great Andaman Archipelago and Barren Island, 80 km away from Barren Island on its eastern side. To its west, it faces Baratang Island and South Andaman across the Diligent Strait, with a distance of approximately 15 km. Administratively, it falls under the South Andaman District of the Indian Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with geographical coordinates ranging from 11°46′46″N to 12°19′7″N and 92°55′30″E to 93°7′24″E. The main islands of Ritchie’s Archipelago include North Button Island, Middle Button Island, South Button Island, Outram Island, Henry Lawrence Island, John Lawrence Island, Wilson Island, Nicholson Island, Sir William Peer Island, Havelock Island, Neill Island, and Rose Island. All islands in the archipelago are relatively small in size, with the largest being Havelock Island covering an area of 91.47 km².
