With the aim of promoting international comparability, statistics presented on ILOSTAT are based on standard international definitions wherever feasible and may differ from official national figures. This series includes only countries for which the 19th ICLS definitions are applied. This series includes only countries for which the 19th ICLS definitions are applied. Subsistence foodstuff producers, a subset of persons in own-use production work, are people producing and/or processing goods from agriculture, fishing, hunting and gathering, as foodstuff that contribute to the livelihood of the household or family. The subsistence foodstuff production rate is the share of the working-age population that is involved in subsistence foodstuff production, expressed as a percentage.
