Impact of dietary fiber and polyphenols on canine gut microbiome differs by background diet: Dietary fiber is a key component in gastrointestinal health maintenance partly due to its fermentation by the gut microbiome. In this study, a novel fiber bundle was added separately to two foods that differed greatly in their composition in order to examine how the food matrix impacts the effect of fiber.
